The island economy relies mainly on tourism, with agriculture serving the domestic market. Home to a growing number of medical schools and the healthcare industry, the University of Health Sciences Antigua and the American University of Antigua College of Medicine are responsible for teaching a growing number of aspiring doctors, which have led to a boom in medical tourism.
