Known as the "Island of Spice", Grenada is one of the world's largest exporters of nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, allspice, orange/citrus peels and wild coffee. Home to beautiful waterfalls, rivers and a tropical climate, Grenada was originally a French colony before being formally ceded to Britain and surviving an invasion from the U.S. Today, the country is an independent parliamentary democracy under the constitutional monarchy of Queen Elizabeth II.
